Protecting the Power: Our Team’s Partnership with West Bend Power
Hockey is fast, fierce, and full of heart, and in West Bend, it’s also local pride on ice. That’s why we’re proud to share some exciting news: Our own Dr. Sara from Kewaskum Family Dentistry is the official on-call dentist for the West Bend Power, a North American Tier 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) team made up of young athletes chasing college dreams and professional opportunities.
These players, aged 17 to 20, represent the next generation of hockey talent. They skate hard, train harder, and carry the hopes of families, fans, and a city that loves hockey. Our job is to make sure their smiles and oral health stay as strong as their slap shots.
The Importance of Dental Care in Hockey
Hockey has a reputation for intensity. Every pass, block, and collision carries risk, not just to shoulders and knees, but to teeth and jaws, too. Even with mouthguards, athletes can experience chipped teeth, cuts to the lips and gums, or more serious facial injuries. That’s where having a dedicated sports dentist matters.
As the team’s on-call provider, Dr. Sara is available for emergency dental care during the season, ready to step in when accidents happen on or off the ice. From quick repairs after a rough game to long-term protection like custom-fit mouthguards, our focus is on keeping the Power healthy, confident, and ready to play their best.
College Dreams, Local Roots
The NA3HL gives young players a pathway to college scholarships or advancement to higher leagues. For many of these athletes, West Bend is a stop along a larger journey, and we’re honored to support them while they’re here. Caring for the Power isn’t just about fixing injuries. It’s also about giving these players the confidence to smile in team photos, meet with scouts, and pursue their goals knowing their health is in good hands. And because many of our younger hockey fans in town see the Power as role models, this partnership reminds every kid at the local rink that smart athletes protect their teeth just like the pros.

We see their families in our chairs, their coaches at local restaurants, and their fans cheering in the stands.
