Dental Crowns in Kewaskum, WI

When tooth damage is so severe that it is beyond repair, we use porcelain or porcelain “pasted on gold” crowns to restore your smile. This is an extremely reliable technique that repairs some of the most severe dental problems. It can even permanently replace missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are well known for the quality of our work and the fantastic transformations we provide patients using this technology. Crown treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems and can typically last for 20 to 30 years- this is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.

Dental Crown Procedure

It takes at least two visits to fit a crown. First, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown that is made of either plastic or metal.

On the following visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. The crown will then be cemented into place and the result is a new beautiful looking tooth.

Main Benefits of Dental Crowns

  • Replaces damaged or missing teeth
  • Offers support to misshapen teeth or badly broken teeth
  • Looks and functions like your natural teeth
  • Corrects “smile” and functional chewing problems

Crowns Used In Other Treatments

Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems that are caused by accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Material used in the repair of these conditions is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. We often recommend a higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials to treat the most serious of dental problems. Crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution for the following conditions:

  • When accidental damage has occurred that resulted in lost teeth
  • Where teeth have broken away through excessive wear
  • When old fillings cause tooth breakage

Many people have unexplained pain from back teeth that have been filled. This condition is typically caused by hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth can relieve the pain and allow a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems such as staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. Crowns can also prevent breakage in teeth with root canal fillings.

I have been going to Kewaskum Family Dentistry for probably 20 years. Dr. Sara is new to me, but on my visit (cleaning)last week she was very nice. She put a watch on one tooth that has a tiny fracture. Some dentist might say that needs a crown right away. Glad to know she is following Dr. Connors don’t do unnecessary work right away. I come about 35 miles now since I moved but I think I will stay. My hygienist Ashley and office girls are great too! Jodi knows how to get things done, when it comes to insurance.

What a wonderful dentist. The office is clean and the staff is polite and friendly. Usually I fear the dentist and the anxiety i would have was unbearable, but now I actually look forward to my appointments . It is great to finally find a place where I am comfortable and know I'm in good hands. Kewaskum family dentist also has a therapy dog who comes and greats you sometimes in the room. Thank you to all the staff you are all so wonderful and of course the dentist

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kewaskum Family Dentistry. They have taken me from being totally embarrassed to open my mouth and smile to wanting to show my smile to everyone I meet. It’s not just showing off a great looking mouth full of teeth, but even more so how it makes you feel about yourself. The whole crew at Kewaskum go out of their way to give you what you came there for….a great big beautiful healthy smile and the most friendly caring people you will ever meet. It’s easy to understand why they needed to build a bigger facility….can’t wait to see it!Thanks again for what your crew has done for me and many, many others…..Keep going and Growing!!!
