Crowns

While it’s easy to tell the difference between most dentistry and natural teeth, our goal is to provide dentistry that is unnoticeable. We work to replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.

Dental Crowns in Kewaskum, WI

When tooth damage is so severe that it is beyond repair, we use porcelain or porcelain “pasted on gold” crowns to restore your smile. This is an extremely reliable technique that repairs some of the most severe dental problems. It can even permanently replace missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are well known for the quality of our work and the fantastic transformations we provide patients using this technology. Crown treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems and can typically last for 20 to 30 years- this is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.

Dental Crown Procedure

It takes at least two visits to fit a crown. First, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown that is made of either plastic or metal.

On the following visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. The crown will then be cemented into place and the result is a new beautiful looking tooth.

Main Benefits of Dental Crowns

  • Replaces damaged or missing teeth
  • Offers support to misshapen teeth or badly broken teeth
  • Looks and functions like your natural teeth
  • Corrects “smile” and functional chewing problems

Crowns Used In Other Treatments

Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems that are caused by accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Material used in the repair of these conditions is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. We often recommend a higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials to treat the most serious of dental problems. Crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution for the following conditions:

  • When accidental damage has occurred that resulted in lost teeth
  • Where teeth have broken away through excessive wear
  • When old fillings cause tooth breakage

Many people have unexplained pain from back teeth that have been filled. This condition is typically caused by hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth can relieve the pain and allow a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems such as staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. Crowns can also prevent breakage in teeth with root canal fillings.

Every time I walk into Kewaskum Family Dentistry I am greeted with a smile. I never have to wait long. Dr. Sara is such a caring dentist. She treats you like you are a member of her family. She is a very thorough dentist. We had our previous dentist for 40 years and he retired. It was scary coming somewhere new. My husband and I are so happy to have found Dr. Sara, to have found Kewaskum Family Dentistry. Thank you too Angela for your caring help! I feel like I am in good hands at Kewaskum Family Dentistry.

I’ve been going to Kewaskum Family Dental since moving to the area in 2011, live 40 miles away now, but wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Dr. Klasinski, my dental hygienist Jen, & all the other doctors, hygienists, & staff make every visit stress free & enjoyable. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a dentist!
